SEC Issues 5-Year Exemption Allowing Tokenized NMS Stocks on Permissioned AMMs

The SEC issued a conditional five-year exemption on Thursday permitting tokenized National Market System stocks to trade on permissioned automated market makers. Simultaneously, CFTC staff extended introducing-broker relief to passive software platforms, a significant regulatory opening for onchain financial infrastructure without prior congressional action.

For Armada's crypto repo desk, this creates a plausible near-term pathway for tokenized equities to appear as collateral in repo structures, expanding beyond current BTC/ETH/SOL/HYPE and tokenized T-Bill inventory. The CFTC software relief also warrants close review: depending on how Armada's platform routes or facilitates trades, it may fall within or near the newly defined scope, requiring legal sign-off before any product expansion.

Suggested action Flag to legal counsel to assess whether Armada's AMM-adjacent infrastructure triggers SEC exemption conditions or CFTC introducing-broker relief scope.
