Circle has launched the Arc mainnet, a permissioned proof-of-authority Layer 1 blockchain that uses USDC as gas and counts BlackRock, DTCC, Visa, and eight other institutions among its 11 block-producing validators. Over 100 applications are live at launch, including Aave, Morpho, and Uniswap, positioning the chain as a regulated DeFi venue. Circle minted 10 billion ARC tokens this week but has not committed to a public token distribution or listing.
For Armada, the DTCC and BlackRock validator participation is the most consequential detail. DTCC's role suggests Arc could evolve into settlement infrastructure for tokenized securities, including Treasuries, which Armada accepts as crypto repo collateral. If repo or collateral management applications migrate to Arc, Armada's operational and legal framework may need to accommodate Arc-native asset flows. Flag to legal counsel and monitor whether Fireblocks supports Arc custody natively.
