An Aave governance proposal published September 11 recommends establishing Umbrella coverage markets on Aave v4 Ethereum for three assets: Core WETH, Core USDC, and Core USDT. The framework evaluates loan size, collateral quality, borrower risk, supplier concentration, and reserve economics. Markets for frxUSD and USDG were excluded on the basis that credit risk does not currently justify incremental coverage infrastructure.
For Armada's crypto repo desk, the Umbrella parametrization for WETH is a live DeFi-native risk benchmark. When governance finalizes collateral ratios and coverage thresholds for WETH under this framework, it provides a market-derived floor against which Armada can calibrate its own ETH-collateral LTV and haircut policies. Divergence between Armada's internal parameters and Aave v4 governance consensus should be flagged for review by the risk team.
