Franklin Templeton and HashKey Launch Tokenized U.S. Money Fund Across Asia

CoinDesk · Aug 25, 2026 3:55 AM EDT

Franklin Templeton and HashKey have jointly launched a tokenized U.S. money market fund distributed across Asian markets, building on Franklin's existing FOBXX product infrastructure. The fund gives institutional and qualified investors in the region on-chain exposure to U.S. short-duration instruments, with HashKey providing the distribution and custody layer. This is one of the first major U.S.-domiciled tokenized MMF products to reach Asian institutional channels at scale.

For the Crypto Repo desk, this is directly relevant: Armada already accepts tokenized T-Bills as collateral, and a Franklin-grade issuer entering Asia strengthens the asset class's credibility and liquidity profile. The desk should assess whether the fund's token standard, redemption mechanics, and custodial setup are compatible with Armada's collateral acceptance framework and Fireblocks integration before any counterparty brings it to the table.

Suggested action Evaluate Franklin-HashKey fund structure for potential inclusion in Armada's accepted tokenized collateral list.
