Ondo Enables Tokenized SPY and QQQ as Collateral on OndoPerps, Capped at $100K

The Defiant · Jul 21, 2026 12:30 PM EDT

Ondo Finance has enabled holders of its tokenized SPY and QQQ products, branded SPYon and QQQon, to use them as collateral for perpetual futures positions on OndoPerps, subject to a $100,000 per-asset notional cap. This represents one of the first live deployments of tokenized equity as margin collateral in a structured DeFi derivatives context, moving beyond stablecoins and tokenized Treasuries.

Armada's crypto-repo desk does not currently accept tokenized equities as eligible collateral. Ondo's move establishes a market precedent and LTV framework that counterparties, especially DeFi-native hedge funds and market makers, may reference when negotiating terms with Armada. The $100K cap signals early-stage liquidity constraints, but the direction of travel is clear. Legal and risk should evaluate whether SPYon or QQQon could meet Armada's collateral standards and what haircut methodology would apply.

Suggested action Reassess crypto-repo collateral eligibility policy in light of tokenized equity collateral use on OndoPerps.
