CME Group Launches 24/7 Bitcoin and Ethereum Futures and Options Trading

The Defiant · May 29, 2026 7:18 PM EDT

CME Group has expanded its crypto derivatives offering to around-the-clock trading, enabling continuous access to Bitcoin and Ethereum futures and options outside traditional exchange hours. Previously, gaps in CME trading hours created periods where regulated price discovery was unavailable, forcing risk managers to rely on spot exchange feeds with less institutional depth during off-hours.

For Armada's crypto-repo desk, continuous CME futures pricing directly improves the reliability of real-time collateral valuation for BTC and ETH positions. Margin call triggers and LTV breach monitoring can now reference a regulated benchmark at all hours rather than defaulting to unregulated spot venues. Armada should update its collateral management procedures to specify CME futures as a primary or cross-check valuation source, and confirm that Fireblocks integration can ingest or reference these prices for custody-side mark-to-market.

Suggested action Update BTC and ETH collateral valuation procedures to incorporate CME 24/7 settlement prices as a benchmark feed.
